Isle of Palms Public Works

The Isle of Palms Public Works Department is located at 1303 Palm Boulevard and is responsible for the collection of garbage and yard debris in Wild Dunes.

Please note:

  • Rollout carts may be placed curbside after 5:00 p.m. the night before pick up.
  • Rollout carts must be removed from sight by 9:00 a.m. day after pick up.

Garbage Collection

Once a week (Tuesday) from September 5, 2023 – May 28, 2024.

Twice per week (Tuesdays and Fridays) from June 4, 2024 – August 27, 2024.

Acceptable Yard Debris

All yard debris must be in paper bags or containers. Plastic bags cannot be accepted. DO NOT PLACE YARD DEBRIS ON WILD DUNES CUL DE SACS or along PALMETTO DRIVE. Debris must be placed in front of resident’s home.

  • Routine Landscaping Trimmings
  • Leaves
  • Grass Clippings
  • Logs, Limbs, Brush not more than 4 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter.

Please place yard debris (trimmings, leaves and grass clippings) in a biodegradable bag for pickup. Please do not mix garbage with yard debris. Please do not obstruct water meters, stormwater collection boxes, sewer manhole covers, fire hydrants or utility boxes.

Charleston County Recycling

Recycling is now every other Thursday.

Please remember if there is a holiday on our week, our day will move to Friday of that week.

However, during the summer influx, it will change to once a week (Thursdays) from June 4, 2024 – August 27, 2024.
